Schwerin is a city in northern Germany and the capital of the state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The population as of end of 2007 was 95,855. It is an attractive location for businesses and commercial activity in the triangle formed by the cities of Berlin – Hamburg – Rostock. But also as a place where living and working can be combined in optimal fashion. The economic strength of Schwerin is based on a healthy mix of major companies and small and medium-sized enterprises, innovative companies and individual businesses in efficient and fast-growing sectors. The range of benefits offered by the location is supplemented by functioning networks, first-class infrastructure and the variety of options to obtain capital and services on site. Unemployment is surprisingly falling and is currently 14% from 15.9% on 31/12/07.
This block is in a very central location, only a few doors away from highly reviewed hotels and restaurants (Hotel Elefant, Hotel Am Schlob, Cafe Bernstein etc), and walking distance to arguably Schwerin's most popular tourist destination, the "fairy tale" castle which is also the seat of the regional parliament. Walking distance to the Schlosspark Center - a very large shopping centre. The Mecklenburg State Theater, the museums and ministries and the Schweriner lake with the pier of the WeiBe Flotte are also within easy walking distance.
This block has been completely renovated. It has minimum risk as all units are residential. The only negative point is that theh front door is often left open and so it has been an occasional target for grafitti artists, but this can be easily corrected with the installation of a self closing door.
The owner of the block has financial problems and so the block has been reposessed.
